Actions
These
modifications are the top priority:
1. Establish a new page template & logo.
Bach to provide logo. Dane to propose color shading that matches
logo.

2. Place Mission text on home page & delete Mission link. (Done

Database
Design & Linking with Publications
The next major
step is to begin uploading publications and linking to a database.
BACH to provide files, descriptions. Dane to create basic Access
database (primary fields listed below).
The site can
then use the database on a server to facilitate searches by: Author,
Title, Date, Journal, Funding, Contact Info, and Affiliated Studies.
These fields will be in the database, along with the filename of
each publication that is posted. Proposal for 300-400 files. Depending
on file size, this could require significant upgrades in server
capacity. For short term (estimate 100-200 pubs) upgrade costs should
be minimal.
Contract
issues:
Naomi will facilitate
extending Dane's original contract. He will bill for initial site
setup per Phase 2 of the contract. This covered basic page structures,
terms, etc. that were originally planned by Dane, John, and Amelia.
Phase 1 involves the overall theme design details, which depends
on the logo, etc., per item 1 above, and that portion will be invoiced
after logo, etc. is provided.

24, 2006 Notes
First Posting
The logo above is a "placeholder" version, designed by
Dane Tovey. It is understood that this is not an "official"
version. When a decision is made on another logo, the entire site
design/template will be updated.
Future Plans
The ultimate goal is to allow BACH personnel to update various sections
of this site. The web designer will make major design changes, etc.,
as needed.
SPAM prevention
and E-mail addresses.
To
reduce possible SPAM attacks, e-mail addresses will be displayed
as images. Standard e-mail links on websites are picked up by "robot
programs" that generate SPAM lists. The user will have to jot
down the email and use their own method. Research will be done on
other strategies.
