Obesity Prevention & Control in Community Recreation Centers
is a 5-year project involving the design, implementation and evaluation of a recreation center-focused obesity prevention and control program for 7-9 year old children and their families that targets physical activity and eating behaviors.

San Diego State University was funded to complete this innovative project by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. Researchers at San Diego State University will collaborate with community recreation center staff and administrators, families, pediatricians, and community health advocates to better understand physical activity and eating behaviors of children.
